Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located within the charming setting of Moreton Park’s well-stocked garden centre, Dobbies Restaurant offers a welcoming and unpretentious dining experience in St Martin’s, Wrexham. This cozy eatery caters to visitors looking for a satisfying meal after exploring the extensive grounds or simply craving a comforting bite in a relaxed atmosphere.

The menu leans towards classic British fare with hearty options that resonate well with locals and travellers alike. Popular dishes such as generous portions of fish and chips stand out, praised for their size and quality, while the daily specials occasionally feature beloved favorites like lasagne — although availability can vary, prompting thoughtful accommodations like a 60+ deal combining main meals with coffee and cake for a clever value proposition. The cakes and coffee here have garnered particular affection, described as “first class” and a treat worth returning for.

Step inside and you’ll find a bright, spacious interior with large windows that fill the room with natural light, creating a pleasantly airy dining space. Those who bring their furry friends will appreciate the dog-friendly seating area, complete with little extras like a complimentary "puppuccino," which shows a warm, thoughtful touch towards pet owners. The staff are consistently noted for their friendliness and efficient service, helping to make each visit more enjoyable. While the restaurant can be busy—especially with coach groups—there’s a lively buzz that underscores its popularity among both locals and visitors.

That said, not every experience has been flawless; some guests have noted occasional hiccups such as overly dry fruit scones or disruptions from dogs barking. These comments hint at areas where the restaurant could refine its atmosphere even further, ensuring all patrons leave with a wholly positive impression.

Overall, Dobbies Restaurant is a genuine, down-to-earth spot perfect for a casual breakfast, a relaxed lunch, or a sweet indulgence during a day out. Its blend of hearty, comforting dishes, a light-filled setting, and welcoming service combine to offer visitors a satisfying pause from their Moreton Park adventures.

VERY dry fruit scone, only made edible by lashings of whipped cream. And someone just sat there and let their dog bark for the entirety of our visit.

Lovely in store cafe. Coffee and cakes were first class and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Always go there when we're in Chirk. Popular with coaches so sometimes it can be busy. Check the car park on arrival!!

Not been before but brilliant food, both had fish & chips and fish was quite large, shame they'd ran out of Lasagne. Offered the 60+ deal of coffee & cake with main meal as it was cheaper. Brilliant meal deal, will call again.

Dobbies Restaurant at Moreton Park, located just off the Chirk Road in St Martin's, Wrexham, offers a pleasant dining experience nestled within a well-stocked garden centre. Whether you're stopping by after a shopping trip or just looking for a cozy place to enjoy a meal, the restaurant makes a solid impression. The interior is bright and spacious, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer views of the surrounding greenery. The seating is comfortable, and the overall layout allows for a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. It’s a popular stop for both locals and travellers, so it can get busy during peak times—but the staff manage the flow well. The menu features a good variety of options, from hearty cooked breakfasts to light lunches, sandwiches, and traditional British favourites. Their carvery is especially popular on Sundays, offering generous portions and well-cooked meats with all the trimmings. The café also caters to different dietary requirements, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Cakes and pastries are a highlight—freshly baked, generously portioned, and ideal with a cup of tea or coffee. Service is generally friendly and helpful, with staff making a real effort to accommodate special requests. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the clean, well-maintained surroundings enhance the overall experience. One small drawback can be the occasional wait during peak lunchtime hours, but it's usually worth it. There’s also plenty of free parking on-site, making access easy and convenient. Overall, Dobbies Restaurant at Moreton Park offers a reliable and enjoyable stop whether you’re just after a coffee and cake or a full meal. It combines the charm of a garden centre café with the consistency and comfort of a well-run restaurant. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Popped in to have a look at Christmas decorations then had a cheese and tomato toasties and chip, very fast service and the scones and cream to finish off, would highly recommend.

Excellent cafe, if a little expensive, but all garden centres are these days! The food was hot and very well cooked. The cutlery here is always sparkling clean - you don't have to go searching through the knives and forks for a reasonably clean one! Altogether a lovely experience.

Food is really lovely and the staff are always very pleasant and busy. The only downside here is you really do need to keep your coat on while you are eating as it is so cold in this restaurant. A little heat would make so much of a difference to enjoy the lovely food.
